The USA will play Japan in the second of a three-game series on Tuesday on the newly installed grass at Lumen Field in Seattle, where more than 35,000 fans are expected.
It will be only the sixth USWNT match in the Seattle area. The first was a 3-0 win over Brazil at Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma in May 1995. The match drew 3,291 fans, who got to see 11 future Hall of Famers plus Hall of Fame coach Tony DiCicco in his first year in charge of the women’s national team.
