Birmingham Legion midfielder Matthew Corcoran underwent successful surgery to repair a torn labrum.

Corcoran is expected to make a full recovery though he should be absent for all or almost all of the 2024 season, based on the recovery time of other athletes following surgery on a torn labrum.

The 18-year-old FC Dallas Academy product had a breakout season in 2023, playing in 29 games for the Legion and earning a spot in midfield on the 2023 Under-17 World Cup team.
