The Portland Timbers signed Peruvian international Miguel Araujo from Dutch club FC Emmen, where he has spent the last four seasons. The 28-year-old center back was an unused sub for Peru at the 2018 World Cup but played at the 2019 and 2021 Copa America tournaments. Araujo joins the Timbers’ corps of center backs that includes Zac McGraw, 26, Dario Zuparic, 31, and Larrys Mabiala, 35.
